DPT 2025 Visiting Lecture: Dr. Cathy Ciolek

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UW-Madison invites all to attend its 2025 Visiting Lecture on Friday, September 26, for a talk by Dr. Cathy Ciolek entitled, “Incorporating Brain Health Into the Patient’s Plan of Care.”

Those interested can attend the lecture in-person in room 3265 of the UW-Madison Medical Sciences Center (located at 1300 University Ave.) or virtually over Zoom (link here). The talk takes place at 11:30am-12:30pm on September 26.

A short bio of Dr. Ciolek and flyer for the event are included below.

Cathy Ciolek, PT, DPT, FAPTA, FNAP has been a physical therapist for over 35 years and has been board-certified as a geriatric clinical specialist since 1996. She previously served as regional director for the Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative (PARRI), providing education and consultation for issues related to well-being (falls, engagement, medication reduction) to nursing homes throughout the state of Pennsylvania via a CMS grant. Before that role, Dr. Ciolek was an assistant professor and director of clinical education for the Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware. Throughout her career, she has practiced as a physical therapist in acute care, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, and continuing care retirement facilities.
