About this event:
Join us for this engaging interprofessional learning opportunity which will include walking through the Waisman Center Down Syndrome Clinic and their comprehensive team-based approach to care and hearing the story of a mother who is committed to improving the world for her daughter.
Objectives:
- Enhance learners understanding of Down syndrome including the needs of the patient and their families
- Discuss the unique needs of patients with Down syndrome, identifying potential strategies to address cognitive, developmental, emotional, behavioral, social and communication challenges
- Identify interprofessional approaches and community resources to assist and manage the care of patients with Down syndrome
