Learn about the cross over that exists between Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine. A panel discussion will focus on how panelists navigate collaborative practice and education between Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine, a WisCARES case study, and interactive discussions between Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine participants to expand the way we think about caring for all forms of patients and clients.  This session will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5-6:30 pm in the School of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Please note, SPACE IS LIMITED with 50 seats for Veterinary Medicine and 50 seats for Pharmacy participants. A waitlist will start should spaces fill up.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the IPEC Core Competencies of interprofessional education/collaborative practice.
  • List two examples of how veterinary medicine and pharmacy are interconnected and how collaboration can improve patient outcomes.
  • Describe how WisCARES performs interprofessional education and patient care.
  • Compare and contrast the following terms, as they relate to the delivery of care.
    • Spectrum of care
    • Standard of care
    • Access to care
